With its abundant beaches and vibrant boating culture, summer is when Long Island truly shines. On top of all of the permanent amenities and attractions available to locals, there are also countless special events happening in local communities from June to September. You won't be able to make it to all of them, so which ones are worth making time for? Keep reading to learn more about our real estate agents' top picks for Long Island summer events in 2025.  

  • Tilles Jazz Festival - 720 Northern Boulevard, Brookville, NY 11568 
    Long Island's famous Tilles Jazz Festival is set for July 19th, starting at 12 PM and continuing into the evening. Head out onto the lush grounds of Long Island University to hear soulful tunes played by top jazz bands like The Gotham Kings, the Summer Camargo Quintet, and Dear Mr. Sinatra. There will be food trucks and small business vendors set up on-site for your shopping convenience. If you've got youngsters with you, leave time to check out the instrument petting zoo. This unique attraction gives children the chance to get better acquainted with jazz instruments through touch as well as sight and sound.  

  • STEM & Space Camp - Charles Lindbergh Boulevard, Garden City, NY 11530 
    Bright young minds will love all the stimulating educational lessons and activities available at Stem & Space Camp. This summer camp program is hosted by the Cradle of Aviation Museum and features material on space exploration, engineering, foundational science concepts, and much more. It's scheduled to run from July 14th to August 1st, with each week being devoted to a specific theme. Space is limited, so sign your kids up fast to make sure they get a spot. 

  • Fireworks Spectacular & LI Ducks Baseball - 3 Court House Drive, Central Islip, NY 11722 
    The Fireworks Spectacular & LI Ducks Baseball event is a special event organized to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Long Island Ducks baseball team. All summer until September 13th, every Saturday night home game played by the team will include a post-game fireworks show. Come see our home team play ball and enjoy a dazzling display as an end-of-night bonus! 

  • Long Island Road Runners Club Wednesday Night Summer Series - 1899 Hempstead Turnpike, East Meadow, NY 11554 
    The Long Island Road Runners Club is dedicated to making fitness fun for Long Island residents. Their Wednesday Night Summer series offers the chance to participate in casual 5K or 1-mile walk/run races through Eisenhower Park once a week until August 13th. Each race starts at 7 PM and lasts until you complete the course, which you're free to do at your own pace. When you're done, you'll enjoy a complimentary treat like popcorn or ice cream. Tickets for the 5K cost $18.23 apiece while tickets for the 1-mile race cost $23.45. There's also a kids' fun run each night at 6:30 PM that only costs $1 to enter and still comes with goodies for all participants. 

  • FunFest Long Island –1001 Crooked Hill Road, Brentwood, NY 11717  
    FunFest Long Island is back in town for ten days of fun starting on June 12th! Whether you want to ride the thrilling Super Cyclone roller coaster, enjoy a round on the carousel, win a prize at a carnival game, or just munch on some popcorn and cotton candy, this is the spot for you. The fairgrounds are open from 5 PM to 11 PM on weekdays and from 3 PM to 11 PM on weekends. Admission is $5 per person, but you'll need to purchase tickets for each ride you want to board on top of this cost.  

  • Sculpture in the Garden – 4342 Grand Avenue, MattituckNY 11952 
    Each year during the summer, Landcraft Gardens hosts an outdoor art exhibition called Sculpture in the Garden to showcase the works of one special local artist. 2025's artist is mixed-media sculptor Sarah Sze. Her avant-garde works will be on display all summer long and can be viewed without paying any extra fees. The gardens are open on Fridays and Saturdays from 10 AM to 4 PM, and standard admission costs $20 per person.  

  • Arts in the Plaza - 1 W Chester Street, Long Beach, NY 11561 
    Arts in the Plaza is a hybrid art exhibition and market that takes place every Saturday through October 25th at the Kennedy Plaza. From 9 AM to 2 PM, you'll get the chance to meet local artists, browse their works, and even pick up a few original pieces to add to your collection. Mediums from photography and painting to clay sculpting and fiber arts are all represented, so you never know what new treasures you'll find on your next visit.
