Apple Orchard Long Island

Does an apple a day really keep the doctor away? Have fun testing this theory at these great apple orchards and cider mills in Nassau County and Suffolk County that are recommended by our real estate agents.

  • Hank's PumpkinTown - 240 Montauk Hwy., Water Mill, NY 11976 Double your produce-picking fun at Hank's PumpkinTown. Yes, there really is a Hank, and he and his family added apples, pumpkins, flowers, and other offerings to supplement their one-time core crop of potatoes. In between picking apples and pumpkins, check out the corn mazes, giant slides, tractor train rides, and other attractions on 30+ acres of activities. Be sure to have some of Hank's signature roasted corn as well as apple cider and donuts. Hours are 9:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. daily. Admission is $15 on weekdays and $22 on weekends when apple-picking and other select activities are available.

  • Harbes Family Farm - 1223 NY-25, Jamesport, NY 11947
Savor the delicious taste of the Cadillac of apples when you visit Harbes Family Farm. The orchard's acreage is devoted exclusively to Honeycrisp apples, and admission entitles you to pick three pounds of these tasty beauties. Hop on the Apple Express wagon that shuttles you back and forth to the best picking spots. Other attractions include live music, the Robin Hood Trivia Challenge Corn Maze, jump pads, and spectacular sunflower fields. Harbes Family Farm is open weekends and holidays from 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. Admission is $23 for apple-picking or $28 for a combo ticket that includes all attractions.

  • Jericho Cider Mill - 213 Rte. 106, Jericho, NY 11753
While the business has survived Prohibition and multiple site changes, Jericho Cider Mill has remained a local institution for more than 150 years. Top-quality apples are sourced from the Hudson Valley and put through the air-powered press, resulting in more than 40,000 gallons of cider each year. Pair a cup of sweet cider with one of the delicious baked goods, including seven varieties of apple pie and classic cider donuts. Use the convenient online or mobile form to place an order for holiday pies and cider. Jericho Cider Mill is open seven days a week from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.

  • Wickham's Fruit Farm - 28700 Rte. 25, Cutchogue, NY 11935
Scenic Peconic Bay makes a stunning backdrop for historic Wickham's Family Farm, parts of which date back to 1661. With 300 acres, 200 of which contain fruit crops, Wickham's is one of the larger farms on the North Fork. Much of the land has been placed in Suffolk County's Farmland Preservation program, meaning that it will be forever reserved for agriculture. During fall months, visitors can pick their own apples and pumpkins and shop for pies, preserves, cheeses, and baked goods at the retail stand. Hours are 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday, with u-pick available from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.

  • Breeze Hill Farm & Preserve - 31215 County Rd. 48, Peconic, NY 11958
If you're looking for variety, head out to Breeze Hill Farm & Preserve. With 26 varieties of apples growing on 30 acres, Breeze Hill offers one of the larger selections on Long Island. Top varieties include Honeycrisp, Fuji, Granny Smith, Rome, and Winesap. Feel free to linger in the farm market over some cider and donuts while you browse fresh produce, local food products, and gift items. Hours are 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. every day but Tuesday and Wednesday.
