See what local artists are crafting up with these Long Island galleries, theatres, and more.

Long Island's fascinating and rich history has given rise to a diverse and vibrant culture. Immersing yourself in Long Island's culture is easy — there are dozens of world-class theaters and museums across our communities where you'll find the works and performances of our talented local artists on display. Catching a live show and browsing art are some of our favorite weekend activities, so our real estate agents came together to curate this list of Long Island's top arts and culture institutions:

  • Nassau County Museum of Art - One Museum Dr, Roslyn, NY 11576
This renowned art museum that sits on the former Frick "Clayton" estate should be at the top of your to-do list. There are stunning indoor exhibits and beautiful outdoor sculpture gardens across this 145-acre property. Admission is $15 for adults, $5 for children under 5, and free for children under 4. Unlimited free admission is available for museum members.  The mansion is open Tuesday - Sunday until 4:45 pm and the Arboretum is open daily until dusk. The Nassau County Museum of Art is just a few miles away from these gorgeous Roslyn Heights homes for sale.

  • The Heckscher Museum of Art - 2 Prime Ave, Huntington, NY 11743
    The Heckscher Museum of Art
has some great exhibits planned for this year. "Long Island's Best Young Artists" show runs from March 23 through May 5 and features the work of high school students across Long island. "The Rains Are Changing Fast" runs from March 23 through September 1 and showcases landscapes and social issues. The museum is open Thursday through Sunday from 12 to 5 pm. After visiting the museum, don't forget to schedule a tour of your favorite Huntington homes for sale.

  • The Argyle Theatre - 34 W Main St, Babylon, NY 11702
Long Island's newest theater opened in 2018 — The Argyle Theatre offers state-of-the-art lighting, an orchestra pit, a high-quality sound system, a full-service bar, and a spectacular line-up of performances throughout the 2023-2024 season. In addition to Mary Poppins, Bye Bye Birdie, and other theatrical classics, the theater also hosts comedy acts, live music, and other performances.
