Long Island is full of stunning views that are perfect for snapping photos. Here are the spots you don't want to pass up.

Photography is a popular hobby among our real estate agents, who seem to be always out snapping pictures around Long Island. When you're surrounded by beaches, parks, historic mansions, and lighthouses — there is no shortage of photo opportunities! It's fun to take beautiful local pictures and share them with friends and family on social media.

Becoming really good at photography takes a lot of practice, but your scenery has a big role to play. Here are some of the best places around Long Island where you can take stunning pictures and hone your photography skills.

  • Caumsett State Historic Park Preserve - 25 Lloyd Harbor Rd, Lloyd Harbor, NY 11743
Capture some gorgeous shots of Long Island Sound at Caumsett State Historic Park Preserve. The park sits on a peninsula that extends into the sound, and it's covered with meadows, woodlands, and trails, so it's truly one of the best places to enjoy nature. Permits are required for commercial photography (wedding, engagement, party, etc.); however, you're free to walk around and snap some of your own pictures. This awesome park isn't too far away from some stylish Huntington homes for sale.

  • Jones Beach - 1 Ocean Pkwy, Wantagh, NY 11793
One of the best places to visit on Long Island, Jones Beach offers 6.5 miles of beautiful sandy beaches with stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean. There are also museums, music venues, and a boardwalk, so there is no shortage of photo ops. If you'd like to spend every day at Jones Beach, you can find some really nice Wantagh homes for sale down the road.

  • Hempstead House - 127 Middle Neck Rd, Sands Point, NY 11050
This 50,000 square foot, three-story mansion is one of the most unique homes in the country. The first and second floors of the Hempstead House are over 1.5 acres, and many movies have been filmed at the property. Snap beautiful pictures throughout the home's 40 rooms, or take a few shots outside in the gardens. This is one of the most beautiful places on Long Island.

  • Planting Fields - 1395 Planting Fields Rd, Oyster Bay, NY 11771
A spectacular Gold Coast estate built in the 1920s, Planting Fields has all of its original acreage and buildings intact. This 65-room Tudor Revival-style mansion is truly a sight to see, but the amazing landscaping around the property is picturesque, to say the least (the drive in is lined with beech trees). The park itself is open daily from 9 am to 5 pm, and tours are conducted Wednesday through Sunday.

  • Montauk Point Lighthouse - 2000 Montauk Hwy, Montauk, NY 11954
Lighthouses make for awesome photo subjects, and if you take the Montauk Highway to the very end, you'll just happen to run into the oldest lighthouse in the United States. Montauk Point Lighthouse is simply awe-inspiring, and the park that surrounds it is beautiful as well. If you get there early, you can get some amazing shots of the lighthouse in front of the sunrise.

Taking great photos is easy when you live in a beautiful place like Long Island. Contact us today to discuss local listings.
