The park sits on a peninsula that extends into the sound, and it's covered with meadows, woodlands, and trails, so it's truly one of the best places to enjoy nature. Permits are required for commercial photography (wedding, engagement, party, etc.); however, you're free to walk around and snap some of your own pictures. Lighthouses make for awesome photo subjects, and if you take the Montauk Highway to the very end, you'll just happen to run into the oldest lighthouse in the United States. Montauk Point Lighthouse is simply awe-inspiring, and the park that surrounds it is beautiful as well. If you get there early, you can get some amazing shots of the lighthouse in front of the sunrise.
