Thanks to its diverse culture and rich history, Long Island is home to some spectacular local attractions you truly can't find anywhere else in the world. From museums to historic buildings, there is so much to explore and an endless amount of activities to fill your weekends.

  • Long Island Aquarium - 431 E Main St, Riverhead, NY 11901
    Explore the depths of the ocean at one of the country's best aquariums. At the Long Island Aquarium, you'll find one of the largest coral reef displays, a huge shark tank, and over 100 indoor and outdoor exhibits. What makes this aquarium especially unique is its fun "Lost City of Atlantis" theme. The aquarium is open on weekdays from 10 am to 4 pm and on weekends from 10 am to 5 pm. Best of all, the Long Island Aquarium is just a train ride away from some great Brooklyn homes for sale.

  • Old Westbury Gardens - 71 Old Westbury Rd, Old Westbury, NY 11568
    One of the most beautiful and historic buildings in New York is Old Westbury Gardens, the former home of John and Margarita Phipps. This huge mansion was built in 1906 and sits on 200 acres of beautiful land and gardens. Today, you can take a guided tour of the property or attend one of the many educational events hosted onsite every year.     One of the nation's most historic hotels is located right here on Long island. Oheka Castle makes for a beautiful destination for a weekend escape or an amazing venue for a wedding.
